End Result Will Be The Same, Dude
lately very busy.... busy watching tv and going rally listen to bo-liao candidates talking about their promises after their victory of the coming election.
knn these candidates really fuck-up one.
now they want yr 1 vote, they wl promise u the whole LJ sky and then after that disappear into thin air for the next 4 yrs 10 months and then just b4 the next election, come out from their turtle shell again and pleaded: "VOTE ME LA AND I WILL TAKECARE OF YOU!!"
to be honest, i hv never voted in my life but dont think i lose anything cos many areas all also walk over, no fight
not that i m against the oppositions, let it be WP or SDP or whatever, think they still not capable enough to run the country if given a chance.
now at least better, i heard last time those oppo candidates even wear slippers and working as taxi-drivers, sales person, clerk, etc etc, how to make it?
not that i am looking down on them, but hello u let a taxi driver or a sales person to run and rule our country? yr sperm must hv chiong all the way to yr fucking brain man. now better, more oppo candidate got higher quali...but again, the result is final and all of us already know the answer liao.
And the winner is..... knn la still must announce meh? u know i know everybody knows

They are not asking to run the country. They are asking to set up a 2 party system of check and balance.

I reproduce below what singablogger wrote on BM's blog. Apologies if the tone not very good. It was not meant for this blog originally :)
"a. Has it ever occured to you that running a ministry or stat board is the job of CIVIL SERVANTS and not politicians?
b. In real democracies that worked FINE, that's the case!
c. CIVIL SERVANTS (eg. perm sec) = employed for ability to come up with first-class policies. (civil servants arent the property of any political party, in case u havent realise).
d. POLITICIANS = elected for ability to interact with commoners, ability to put themselves in the shoes of citizens, ability to see how a policy will affect citizens, ability to speak up for citizens, ability to talk in a language that commonners can understand!!!
e. Singapore attempted to combine c and d into the role of MINISTERS, with the result that we have politicians who are good at c, but lousy at d! (Just go hear some pap rally speeches for evidence).
f. pple who are good at c, may not be willing to do d (heck, they are afraid of publicity to begin with!). So u have to pay big bucks (highest salary in the world!!!) to get pple of type c to do type d work.
g. In countries that do b, there is no disadvantages of e-f.
h. Finally, u should note that oppositions in this election are not seeking to be c. they are seeking to be d. Hence, the ability to run a ministry is moot."
Those taxi drivers etc can actually be very good POLITICIANS. Reagan, the former US president was an actor! The role of politician and civil servants are diff lah.

opposition answered thus: your electoral boundary keep chaning at the last minute, I work hard in 1 constituency for 4 yrs, but just before election, you split the constituncy into several parts and absorb it into several different constituency, then how u expect me to work? GOAL POST KEEP CHANGING!
Unfortunately, govt-controlled media often does not report on these reasons

U know who, that's good :) I have no choice but to post anonymnously, as I said on my blog.
Nobody start out knowing a lot abt politics. But the more we talk abt it (aruging back and forth especially), the more we learn, else how to improve. So talk more!
Anyway, I just read this interesting thing from rockson's blog:
"I think also the new gahmen those leader got too many scholar and elite best of the best. What they know about we all common people problem? Find all this lawyer and CEO and doctor to become my MP, say they can be Minister quality can go USA and discuss the world economy those kind of thing. Fuck lah no need lah! Don't need go USA for me, come to my Jurong and my Nee Soon and my Joo Chiat and settle for me my problem first can? Cheebye!!!

This is what happen when you have those Minister who can go oversea to talk to other country minister, but dunno the problem of his people".
